As a rare malignancy, most data on Bednar tumors comes from case reports, and little is known about its epidemiology compared with that for typical DFSP. To address this deficiency, the National Cancer Institute's nationwide Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Result Program (SEER) database was used to compare the epidemiology of Bednar tumors with typical DFSP. For simplification, in this paper, “typical DFSP” is called “DFSP.”
